Doing house cleaning for a friend and she set something hot down on her coffee table. Now there’s a light spot (about 31/2 inches across) in the finish. Is there any way to remove the spot, or to change the color of the finish back? Refinishing this is not an option.

I have a wooden coffee table with glass inserts. It is a light color wood with clear glass. It also has a bottom shelf. Any suggestions on how I can make it look more “cottage” style? It has a sealant on the wood. Would I be able to paint it white if I sand it first?
I’m not thinking hunting cottage with dark wood…I’m thinking beach cottage or maybe shabby chic style with white furniture.

It has alot of water marks, swirl marks and scratches on it. Any suggestions or home remedies to take these off my coffee table or atleast make it look less destroyed in the light? In the dark you cant see them so its ok than.

Thanks in advance!!!

I’m going to build a coffee table that will be stained a dark color. What is the best choice if I’m trying to save money and and hoping to stick with solid wood? I’d like to spend about 40 dollars or less on the wood portion for on a 30″ by 30″ table of a normal height. Is this realistic? Thanks for any suggestions!
