Stephy asked:

I accidentally left a bottle of water on my coffee table, and the condensation from it has left quite a mark on it. It’s a very dark stain on the table, and the water stain is very bright. I’ve heard that you can stain the spot using brewed coffee or tea depending on the shade you need, but I’m not sure if it actually works. I don’t want to have to strip the table and stain it again because it’s rather old and I can’t afford to buy more stain at the moment. Any help would be great!

Atlas asked:

I found a coffee table at an antique store that is solid wood and has gorgeous carved legs, but is badly scratched on the surface. I’d like to paint a mural on it, but I’m not sure how I should prep the table. Do I need to sand it all down and prime it first? Is it okay to use the same kind of primer as what you’d put on the walls? I’m also repainting my room so I have heaps of that primer around.

Thank you!

I want to purchase .75″ mosaic art tiles to cover the top of my rectangular coffee table. The top table face is 35.25″ x 23.5″. I want to know how many WHOLE tiles I would be able to squeeze on it if I had about a 0.08″ gap between the tiles for the grout and an equal amount of space around the outside for the borders. I am terrible at math and this is way out of my league! Please help. Thank you so much.

I want to basically find small coffee tables and buy in bulk. It would be expensive to go buy them at a furniture store. I just want the cut and shaved wood and I can stain and decorate them after putting them together.

Sooo.. I have a new color scheme idea for my living room.. This is my furniture http://img106.imageshack.us/my.php?image=20070515new0068jo5.jpg
And I think I have decided to go with light blue walls.. I was thinking of using lighter brown/ almost khaki accent colors (throw pillows, curtains)..and maybe some dark brown? But will it look ok with black end and coffee tables?

I want to use a strong sealant for my coffee tables. I painted, then decoupaged color copies onto them. When I used a lacquer sealant, some of the colors from the copies ran. Any ideas?

i have a coffee table that is wood with a glass top and i hate how loud it is when i put something on top of it and i’m paranoid to break it. but i really love the look of all acrylic nesting tables in a modern room and am debating about purchasing them, but i wonder if i and my clumsy guest friends would be too scared to use them. the acrylic things that i own are not furniture but they are pretty indestructible. opinions? insight?
