What do you think of large coffee tables?

It would fill in the space nicely, although my mom wants to push the couches closer for a more intimate area, there would be weird a weird space behind the couch (which would be between the couch and wall)

I just bought a really nice silverfinish coffee table from Lee Longlands. It’s wooden but it has some kind of metallic-looking coating of paint all over it. Thing is, I don’t have a clue how to clean it and I don’t want to damage the finish. Do I just clean it with a damp cloth, or polish, or what?

I just figure I shouldn’t pay 50 dollars for something I’ll never look at again after the wedding so instead I should get a book with beautiful pictures of our home state that I can leave on the coffee table for guests to view when they come visit and whatnot. I just noticed this morning that there are several small circles, both by themselves and in large groups, on one corner of my glass coffee table. The table is clear and the circles are kind of opaque. I’m sure that there could have been a liquid or something spilled, but the bacteria seem to be growing on the underside of the table which is what confused me.
